It was a very wet day on Sunday when we headed up to Woodbridge Rugby Union Football Club for the next round of the league!
Despite the teaming rain, and a shaky first 10 minutes in which Woodbridge scored their only try, the Ravens found their feet and dominated the home side.
The weather conditions were horrendous but it meant that the Ravens could do what they loved most - lots of scrums and mauls!
They say in rugby that the forwards decide who win, the backs decide by how much, and never was that truer than Sunday’s game. The Forwards were a mighty physical force of nature, defending and attacking the rucks well, creating mauls and making big tackles.
The backs made some unreal try saving tackles as well as running in three tries that won the Ravens the game.
It was a real team effort and the Ravens are starting to see their hard work in training paying off!
The final score was 7-17, with Muggy scoring one try and Lucy Kerr scoring 2. Rosie Cocker was successful with one conversion too.
Our players of the day this week could have gone to so many people, it was difficult to choose just one forward and one back!
Forward of the match went to birthday girl Georgina Cox - it was great to have her in the forwards again - we love her aggression and work rate up front.
Back of the match went to Rosie C - she had an unbelievable game on the wing, as usual - some great runs, tackles and amazing reactions to the ball.
Brilliant day to be a Raven!
Big thanks go to Woodbridge for having us, Keith for getting us there, Clarkey for coaching, Emily for keeping us taped together, Gina for filming, and Fran & Muggy for their work in organising the game behind the scenes.
Next week we are at home to Lakenham Hewitt! Let’s hope to do the same again then!
